About Me

My name is Anna and I am a recent college grad trying to find my place in the world.  I grew up in the great state of South Dakota for almost all of my life.  Although I am extremely proud of my Midwestern roots, I also love to travel and experience other country’s cultures and values.  I caught the travel bug in 2006 when I went to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico with my family.  Since then I have traveled to 10+ countries, and it only seems fitting that I will be returning to Mexico to pursue a Fulbright Fellowship during the 2014-2015 year!  I am so excited to learn about a new culture and grow on a personal level as I tackle a fairly large adventure.  I want this site to serve as…

1) A learning opportunity for a new WordPress user like myself, so please bear with me if it’s looking a little ragged.

2) A safe place where I can share my thoughts, adventures, challenges and fears with anyone that visits.

3) A way for me to keep record of what I’m sure will be an unforgettable experience.

My goal is to post at least once a week.  Thank you for visiting my blog!

Note:  This blog is not an official Department of State website, and that the views
and information presented are my own and do not represent the Fulbright Program or the Department of State.

“She wasn’t where she had been. She wasn’t where she was going…but she was on her way. And on her way she enjoyed food that wasn’t fast, friendships that held, hearts glowing, hearts breaking, smiles that caught tears, paths trudged and alleys skipped. And on her way she no longer looked for the answers, but held close the two things she knew for sure. One, if a day carried strength in the morning, peace in the evening, and a little joy in between, it was a good one…and two, you can live completely without complete understanding.”
